There are a lot of factors involved when it comes to tuning a car and actually sorting out the race track. Quite often, a problem with hook develops. Track conditions change during the day and so do weather conditions. It would go down the track straight, it wouldn’t rattle the tires, and it wouldn’t lose traction somewhere down the race track. Trouble is, it’s not a perfect world. We’re dealing with a mechanical beast that is operated under all sorts of different track and ambient conditions. The Rainbow Village and its market stalls will also now be open on both Saturday and Sunday, following requests from attendees at last year's event. The Community Village will also see the return of the Family and Youth zone and the Health and Wellbeing area, which for the first time, will operate across the whole weekend. Following on from its success last year, the Community Village will also bring back the sports and active life zone and the LGBT Northern Social Group will return to support those who may be attending Pride for the first time. Organisers have made sure that there are still free aspects to Newcastle's annual Pride event, which includes the return of the Community Village along with its stand-out feature, the Curious Arts stage. Additionally, this ticketed area will feature bars and food stalls, along with the funfair and access to the Platinum Bar and Garden for those who have bought tickets for the VIP space. The Festival Arena will also be home to the BeScene dance and cabaret zone, which will showcase performers from across Newcastle's LGBTQIA+ scene. The performances will be hosted by North East drag icon Miss Rory, as well as PlastiQ, Paris Munro, MXYM and Stacy Bee. Sunday will close with Lisa Scott-Lee after we see Miriam-Teak Lee, Tom Aspaul, Sam Lavery and Amelia Lily. Seamus Hadji and Smoking Jo are headlining Saturday, along with Louisa Johnson, Woody Johnson and Freddie Lewis, and stage takeovers from Newcastle Mela and Swagga. The Main Stage in the Festival Arena is where it's all happening this weekend, with a massive line-up of music acts set to perform on each day. However, anyone who wants to enjoy Northern Pride for free still has plenty of options to do so, with access to the festival's Community Village still without charge. The final release of tickets sees a Saturday pass priced at £10, while admission for the whole weekend costs £15. Northern Pride is back this weekend, with celebrations galore for members of the LGBTQ+ community and their allies to look forward to on Newcastle's Town Moor on Saturday July 22 and Sunday July 23.ĭue to spiralling costs, organisers have changed the way the event is ticketed this year and a "small charge" has been introduced into The Festival Arena, where the Main Stage and food and drink vendors are located alongside other events.
